Position: Catering Assistant
Location: 300 Bakewell Road, DE4 2JF
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 2+ Months
Working Hours: 37 Hours Per Week
Pay Rate: £ 12.71 Per Hour

Job Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals for residents within an adult residential care setting.
Support the catering team in maintaining high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness at all times.
Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with dietary requirements, allergies, and individual resident needs.
Serve food and beverages to residents in a polite, respectful, and person-centred manner.
Follow food safety regulations, HACCP procedures, and infection control policies.
Undertake cleaning duties within the kitchen and dining areas, including washing up and sanitising equipment.
Store food items correctly, ensuring stock rotation and minimising waste.
Assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries in line with council procedures.
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth daily catering operations within the care centre.
Adhere to health and safety policies, including wearing appropriate uniform and PPE.
Person Specification (Mandatory Requirements)
Previous experience working in a catering or kitchen environment (preferably within a care, health, or similar setting).
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Understanding of dietary requirements and allergen awareness.
Good communication skills and a respectful approach when interacting with vulnerable adults.
Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in line with regulations.
Reliability and flexibility to work across weekdays and weekends as required.
Ability to wear required dress code (black trousers and sturdy flat non-slip shoes).
Physically able to undertake duties involving standing, lifting, and kitchen tasks.
